Can I Use Two Sets of Powerline Adapters

  • #1
Hi all,

Shortly ill exist moving to a new firm where I demand to gear up up a network over 3 stories. Im using the 1200mbs TL PA8030 at the moment and it works like a charm.
I was wondering if I can simply add some other pack of 2 adapters and then they function equally an extension of the other two?
Or are the sets of ii unique in their communication and do I need to add the new pack to a unlike network slot?

Thanks in advance.

The final ones I used had a special software disk. Well-nigh times they devices sold in pairs have a cardinal preset the same. If you lot were to purchase 2 dissimilar packages the keys should be different. Many adapters have buttons that let them learn a different key and connect to a network.

I have been told that some manufacture use the same primal on every device...makes it easier to hook them up just tends to be a security concern.

Will it for example be possible to 'daisy chain' the connectedness?

Powerline ane ~~~~~~~~~~ Powerline 2 ------ Powerline iii ~~~~~~~~~~ Powerline iv
Powerlines 1 and ii are paired, and powerlines iii and 4 would be paired.

Powerlines 2 and iii would exist connected past an Ethernet cablevision.

Yes and no. Yous tin use different password on the units and they volition class different pairs. Trouble is they use the same electical wires so they will interfere with each other. Information technology really works meliorate than I though it would when I found someone that did it simply you are better off leaving them on the same network.

Running three or iv units on the same network does dethrone the network somewhat but it is less than when they are competing with each other with no knowledge the other network exists.

When you run more than 2 units they form what works like a switch where traffic can direct menses betwixt them. unlike a existent switch though the backplane "ie your electical wires" is a limitation on the bandwidth.

Give thanks y'all for the reply.
Strangely enough the 2 adapters didnt came with whatever form of software/installation disc. It was simply plug and play.
Will it be possible to detect a new pair of Powerlinks if the simply network that is running on my CPU has a different set of Powerlink adapters as a source?

The bit about degradation is very true, have institute that myself. If you accept cloned the SSID with the adaptors, would that non mean the security is but as good (or bad) every bit the master router that the feed is coming from? I have found this works very well.

Merely my tuppence worth.
